A community Strength & Balance programme for older adults, aiming to reduce falls and improve your physical and mental wellbeing and overall quality of life.

Bi-Weekly class under supervision of a quality physiotherapist, suitable to a range of functional levels from beginner to advance.

Officially certified by ACC's Live Stronger for Longer initiative.

When: Every Monday and Thursday 12pm-1pm.

Difficulty: Mixed

The Physiotherapist can adapt the class to meet different abilities.

What you need to know:

This class is great for anyone with strength and/or balance goals or impairments following injury, illness or surgery.

What to expect?

The class starts with a warm-up followed by a circuit of exercises and a cool down. When you join the class, you will be shown the exercises and how to use the relevant equipment. The exercises are chosen to challenge various aspects of fitness including strength, balance, agility, and cardiovascular fitness.

Your physiotherapist will be on hand to help you with your exercises. 

Who can join?

Anyone (booking and a pre-assessment is required beforehand)

What to bring and wear?

Please arrive ready to start the class. There is free parking available at the front or on the roadside. There is a single changing or shower facility.

Please wear clothing appropriate to exercise in, i.e., shorts/leggings, t-shirt and trainers. We advise you to bring a bottle of water for refreshment.

If you usually use an inhaler or other medication whilst exercising, please bring this with you and let us know.
